Leo Recycle Day 2012

Nowadays, try to observe the environment around us. Look at the sun and feel the temperature, it is as hot as fire. From the newspaper, we can know that calamities arise all over the world, tsunami, earthquakes or tornado which snatch myriads of lives！Next, try to walk along the beach, streams or rivers. is the water crystal clear? Definitely not! You could see rubbish or plastic bags float on the water. From these investigations, we can conclude that the our mother earth is undergoing destruction!

Thus, to overcome this problem and stop leading mankind to the end of the world, we must take our responsibility to save the earth from being polluted by practising recycle!'Action speaks louder than words.'' On the 22nd of April 2012, in response to Earth Day 2012, the Leo Club of SMK Air Putih organized a Recycle Day for the go green project at Air Putih and Galing housing areas. The purposes of carrying this project are to raise awareness about the importances of recycling as well as maintain the cleanliness of our mother nature beside respond to the Earth Day 2012.


This project commenced at 8am and ended around 11am. We asked the citizens house by house and had collected several stacks of newspaper, bottles and aluminium tins. We gathered at school to congregate the recycle materials that we have collected by the donations from the kind-hearted citizens. At the end, we sold the collected items to the related company and acquire money. The money that we have earned will be donated to charities and those in need.

In a nutshell, we must protect our mother earth. Recycling is entitled as the foremost, efficient and vital way to save our environment.''It is not too late to mend'' and'' time waits for no men'', we must practise recycling regularly from now on in order to heal the world as the saying goes' Practise makes Perfect!'
